Harriet PRINCE: Current Brickwall Project

Objective: Find the parents of HARRIET PRINCE
Not much is known about Harriet Prince. Church records, Census records, marriage records, death records, and military records have been used to reconstruct her life and that of her children.
Best estimate gives her birth around 1815 Tennessee.
In 1841, Harriet PRINCE married Alexander DICKSON (Muhlenberg, KY).
In 1856, Harriet DIXON married Robert McGHEE (Gallatin, IL).
In 1879, Harriet MCGHEE died of typhoid fever (Gallatin, IL).

The 1850 Census (Williamson,IL) gave the best clue to her extended family dynamic.
In addition to her husband and their children; a pair of newlyweds (William MARTIN and Eliza PRINCE) and a boy (Thomas JONES) were living in their household.
In the next household lived Hannah ADCOCK, James JONES, and Polly A. JONES.
Throughout their lives the JONES and DIXON children maintained a close relationship. They are mentioned in each other records and married into the same families.
